Animal Right activists protest demanding humane management of animals inside TIA

A group of animal activists staged a protest in front of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) office in Babarmahal against the shooting of a dog on Sunday at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).  The dog shooting incident happened in the only international airport in Nepal on Sunday when a dog tried to enter inside the runway where an aircraft was supposed to take off. Around 100 activists participated in the protest demanding the humane management of animals inside TIA. Founder of Sneha’s Care and the organiser of the program, Sneha Shrestha, during the protest demanded for proper solutions for the management of stray dogs entering the airport.

“We should not put the lives of passengers in risk due to halt by the animals inside but that does not mean killing animals should be allowed by the authority,” Shrestha said, “There are proper solutions available for its management but the authority does not show any interest in its implementation.”
