VALERIE JULLIAND – United Nations Resident Coordinator


Ms. Valerie Julliand, a humanitarian at heart, an inspiration for many, an exemplary person defending human rights and animal rights, supporting everyone with her encouraging words. In addition to being an animal lover who has been a vegan for the past 15 years, she is a certified vegan chef as well.

Ms. Valerie Julliand has been working for the United Nations over the last three decades, starting in 1995. She currently is the UN Resident Coordinator for Indonesia. She held the same position in Nepal, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. She also worked for the Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, where she held various positions in Africa.

Before joining the UN, Ms. Valerie Julliand was the Program Director for Handicap International in Serbia and Bosnia, and in France, her native country, she worked in different media and publishing firms in Paris

Ms. Valerie Julliand has a Master’s degree in political science from the Institute d ‘Etudes Politiques in France and a Master’s degree in social management from the Institute de Gestion Social in France. She is fluent in French, English, and Spanish.
