In addition to the existing CCCs in Karnataka presently coordinated by Sneha Charitable Trust through the Samastha and GFATM projects, the Trust has entered into a new venture by starting a new CCC – Samagra, with 15 beds within the SNR District Hospital, Kolar. The district hospital has provided two patient wards for males and females and minimal infrastructure for the functioning. The CCC is run by nuns of the ‘Adorers of Blood of Christ’ (ASC) congregation. The venture is new in terms of collaboration with a Public entity in the field of health care & has become the first CCC opened in Public – Private Partnership (PPP) ever in the country. The project is supported by USAID-Samastha project through KHPT, the key state player in the HIV/AIDS field. At present we have a project coordinator, a counsellor and four nurses to manage the centre. We are getting service of a medical practitioner is availed from the district hospital itself. The centre is working in close coordination with the ART centre operating in the same hospital and in proximity to the CCC. |
